We’ve all have that one wall in that house that just looks, well, empty. We pass by it on a daily basis and think about putting up that one picture, and well, it just never looks right. Lucky for you, Real Deals is here to help! We’ve pulled together 10 different ways to dress up your walls and with this much inspiration, you’ll be raring to go and redesign all your walls!
The Gallery Wall
Gallery walls are the best way to cover large spaces without worrying too much about the shape of the space or height. You can easily work with what you have and add only small touches or go all out and create an all new gallery wall with what you find. We love the look of Emily Henderson’s gallery walls and tried our own here at Real Deals.
The Statement Clock
Sometimes just a single piece can really liven up a wall. You can add all the character you need by hanging a clock that fits the size of your wall. Feel like it needs something more? Add mirrors around your clock that share the same color or texture.
Shelves
We LOVE packing our shelves with all our favorite treasures here at Real Deals, so it’s no surprise shelving is another one of our favorite ways to decorate a blank wall. Add interest to your shelves by showcasing items that have a variety of different heights to them. Include a few eye-popping pieces and remember to get creative with what you use as shelving.
Sconces and Lighting
Dress up even the smallest of spaces with a little light. Pick out an elegant sconce to light up that dark corner or hang a decorative pendant light to add a little “wow” to an otherwise boring area.
Baskets and Plates
Yup, you read that right—Baskets and Plates. Position decorative baskets or trays with interesting designs on their surfaces on walls to create a unique focal point. Decorative or vintage plates can be utilized the same way in the dining room or kitchen to create another version of a gallery wall.
Empty Frames
Surely now you think we’ve lost our minds. We may be a little cooky, but only in the creative way! Spruce up your wall with empty frames at varying heights in multiple colors or in one tone. This is a simple and decorative trend that takes very little effort!
Signs
We really dig our galvanized steel letters and have seen some of our favorite interior designers use them everywhere from the kitchen to the patio. The great thing about signs is you can find just about any size of sign to fit any size of wall!
Hooks and Hangers
While this may seem totally boring, hear us out! Hang a few decorative hooks (like doorknobs, vintage hooks or even bold nails) and hang your favorite colorful scarves, hats and jewelry. Voila! Your wall is now decorated AND functional!
Wreaths and Natural Décor
Wreaths aren’t just made for front doors. Make your own wreath or pick up a premade wreath and hang it on any empty wall to create a natural, homemade look. Place a few long branches or bamboo shoots in a tall vase that reaches up to cover boring walls.
Mirrors
Mirror, mirror on the wall, what’s the simplest design trick of all? Mirrors! Hang different sized mirrors like any other gallery wall or pick out a stately, large mirror to create a powerful focal point on any wall.
